Widely regarded as one of the greatest driver's cars ever produced, the E46-generation BMW M3 has become a benchmark among modern performance cars. Many enthusiasts consider it the last truly analog M3, combining a naturally aspirated high-revving engine, hydraulic power steering, a perfectly balanced rear-wheel-drive chassis, and the involvement of a traditional 6-speed manual transmission. Before turbocharging and increasingly complex electronic driver aids became the norm, the E46 delivered a remarkably pure driving experience that continues to earn praise more than two decades after its introduction.
